Older Americans Month Local Spotlight

In honor of Older Americans Month 2021, the Pennyrile Area Agency on Aging and Independent Living is recognizing older adults throughout the Pennyrile.
Mrs. Ardith (Adri) Weber is a resident of Todd County. She and her husband Jack live in Allensville. Mrs. Ardi is a pastor’s wife. She and her husband served in the ministry for many years and were also missionaries. In addition to her ministry work, she also worked for a pharmaceutical company and as a certified nursing assistant prior to her move to Kentucky. Mrs. Ardi and her husband relocated to Allensville, Kentucky from Oregon in 2017.
Currently, she is a participant on the Senior Community Service Employment Program. The Todd County Senior Center is her host agency where she works 26 hours per week. Her duties include answering phones, greeting the public, data entry, coordinating commodity disbursement, Bingo, sending birthday cards to clients, calling to check on homebound clients and assisting with the daily lunch service. When asked what her she liked about the program, she replied with a big smile and bright eyes, “I love everything and I love the people”. During the COVID pandemic there were a few months, she was unable to work at the senior center, as she was required to quarantine at home. She was able to return to the senior center in person in June 2020 and now enjoys all the time she spends working at the center.
