Walk for Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2023
Let’s build a national elder justice movement, through movement! Walk for WEAAD begins May 1st, on the first day of Older Americans Month, and runs through June 15th, WEAAD.
Sign up now online or through the Walker Tracker app, so you’re ready to walk, run, or do any other activity to show your support for WEAAD. And we do mean any other activity — Walker Tracker converts Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) recommended activities into steps, so we can count every step we are collectively taking to advance elder justice.
To get ready for Walk for WEAAD (May 1 – June 15), follow these steps:

To get ready for Walk for WEAAD (May 1 – June 15), follow these steps:
- Register and create your profile on https://walk4weaad.thrives.app/login by April 30, 2023.
- Join a team at registration (The “WEAAD Team” is open to all!), or create a team with colleagues, friends, or family after you register for the campaign.
- Sync your device (e.g., smartphone, Fitbit, Apple Watch, etc.) and complete your profile. No device? No problem. Here’s how to log your activity.
- Wear purple clothing or ribbon or create signs to honor survivors of elder abuse and raise awareness of WEAAD.
- Encourage your colleagues, friends, and community to join at https://walk4weaad.thrives.app/login.
