November 2021 Board of Directors Meeting

The PeADD Board of Directors held their monthly meeting on Monday, November 8, 2021 in Hopkinsville KY.  Federal and State reports were provided and Representative Melinda Prunty gave a quick overview of legislation to be addressed in the upcoming session of the KY General Assembly.  Ms. Amy Frogue, Associate Director – CED, presented the 2021 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) Update which was approved by the Board.  She also shared information about Kentucky’s Long-Range Transportation Vision Plan and the opportunity for Kentuckians to provide their feedback by completing a survey.  Ms. Jill Collins, Director, Pennyrile AAAIL, provided an update on aging activities and Ms. Amanda Stokes, Aging Planner/In-Home Services Manager, provided an update on the National Aging Program Information System (NAPIS).  Ms. Sheila Clark, Director, WKWB, shared information about Workforce activities and job fairs.  Board Chair Judge Perry Newcom introduced Ms. Deneatra Henderson, District 2 Chief Engineer, KYTC.  Ms. Henderson stated once infrastructure funding is signed into law, we will know the method in which funding can be allocated. Ms. Henderson introduced Ms. Emily Deason, Project Manager, KYTC, who gave a presentation on the I-69 Ohio River Crossing which included project history, construction plans/activity, interchange improvements and next steps.  Mr. Jason Vincent, PeADD Executive Director, reported the Board was well represented last month at the 2021 NADO Annual Training Conference in Portland, OR.  He, among others, congratulated Pennyrile AAAIL on receiving the NADO 2021 Impact Award and the City of Madisonville on receiving runner-up in the NADO National Photo Contest. The December 13, 2021 Annual Board Christmas Luncheon and Legislative Update will be held at Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park.
