Madisonville Awarded Funding for Improvements to Cherry Park

The Department of Local Government awarded funding for a Recreational Trails Project in the Pennyrile area this month. The City of Madisonville was awarded $20,000 for improvements to Cherry Park. Improvements include a paved walking trail around the perimeter of Cherry Park, a restroom facility and water fountain. RTP is a competitive, federal program which provides assistance for easement acquisitions, trailhead facility upgrades and recreational trail development and maintenance. Congratulations to the City of Madisonville!
