CDBG Projects Update
The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program provides assistance to communities for use in revitalizing neighborhoods, expanding affordable housing and economic opportunities, providing infrastructure and/or improving community facilities and services. With the participation of their citizens, communities can devote these funds to a wide range of activities that best serve their own particular development priorities. CDBG Projects in the Pennyrile Region
Christian County Water District Phase VIII Upgrade Project
$1,944,533 – CDBG & RD funds
Project Description - This project will replace and install approximately 207,354 LF of 6" and 8" water lines in the Christian County service area. These new lines will replace ageing infrastructure, extend to cover new customers, and help reduce O&M costs for the water district.

Crofton & HWEA Water Tank Rehabilitation
$200,000 CDBG/ $200,000 KIA SRF Loan
Project Description - 100,000 gal water tank – details of this rehab include interior recoat, exterior recoat, replace wet riser, replace vault hatch, and conduct miscellaneous repairs.

Caldwell County – Bright Life Farm Housing Project
$1 million CDBG funds
Project Description – Construction for a 4th group home. The completion of this project will allow Bright Life Farms to provide permanent housing for eight mentally and developmentally challenged adults and provide them with an opportunity to develop independent living skills and become productive citizens of the community.
