PADD Board of Directors May Monthly Meeting
The PADD Board of Directors held their monthly meeting on May 9th at the PADD Office in Hopkinsville. Guest Speaker, Mr. J.D. Chaney, Deputy Executive Director, Kentucky League of Cities, provided copies of the 2016 KLC Legislative Update and highlighted several pieces of legislation that were passed by the General Assembly this session. Kevin McClearn, Chief District Engineer for the District 2 office of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s (KYTC) Department of Highways was in attendance and will retire at the end of this month after 23 years of service. Mr. McClearn expressed his appreciation to the PADD and local elected officials that have partnered with KYTC to provide better transportation in their cities and counties. Other federal, state and staff reports were provided. Mr. Jason Vincent, PADD Executive Director, welcome new PADD Board Member, Mr. Roger Simpson. Mr. Simpson will serve as a citizen representative on the board for Crittenden County. Mr. Vincent also shared information about collaborative efforts in the Pennyrile region in regards to the 2017 Solar Eclipse. PADD will facilitate a meeting in June to discuss the economic impact the solar eclipse will have on the region and planning efforts.
