Hopkinsville Scam Jam & Shredding Event to Help Community Stay Safe from Fraud
Scammers are becoming more sophisticated every day, but knowing what to look for can help protect you and your loved ones. Community members are invited to attend the Hopkinsville Scam Jam & Shredding Event, a free educational event designed to provide the latest information on fraud prevention, identity theft, and emerging scams.
Hosted by Team Kentucky Stop Scams, AARP Kentucky, and community partners, the event will take place on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at the Christian County Senior Center, 1402 W. 7th Street, Hopkinsville. Doors open at 9:00 a.m. CT, with the Scam Jam presentations running from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. CT. Secure document shredding will be available to the community from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. CT.
Attendees will hear from experts on a variety of timely topics, including:
* Identity theft prevention
* Artificial intelligence scams
* Fraud awareness and protection strategies
In addition to informative presentations, participants can enjoy lunch and refreshments, visit with exhibitors, enter for door prizes, and safely dispose of sensitive documents through the free on site shredding service.
Whether you’re looking to learn how to recognize the latest scams or simply want to securely shred old financial documents, this event offers valuable resources to help you stay informed and protected.
