The Pennyrile Area Development District is the statutory regional planning and development organization for the nine counties of the Pennyrile region in western Kentucky. The region includes the counties of Caldwell, Christian, Crittenden, Hopkins, Livingston, Lyon, Muhlenberg, Todd and Trigg.
Our mission is to enhance the economy of the Region through planning to maximize resources, projects to promote development, and programs to improve the quality of life for its citizens.
We bring local civic and governmental leaders together to accomplish major objectives, and take advantage of opportunities which cannot be achieved by those governments acting alone.
Economic and community development provide local governments and citizens opportunities to improve the quality of life and operation of local and regional agencies for the entire Pennyrile region in western Kentucky.
Workforce development, employment programs including job seeker services, skills training, transportation planning, regional economic development projects, water system management, safety planning and programs, GIS and GIS based GPS mapping services, aging support of our aging population, housing programs including rehabilitation and affordable housing programs all contribute to the quality of life for the citizens of western Kentucky's Pennyrile region.
