Governor Beshear in Pennyrile Region to Announce Grant Awards

On January 13, 2020, Governor Andy Beshear joined Department for Local Government (DLG) Commissioner Dennis Keene to announce recipients of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding in the Pennyrile region. The City of Dawson Springs was awarded $1 million in CDBG funds; these funds, along with State Revolving Fund (SRF) loan funds and Delta Regional Authority (DRA) funds will be used to rehabilitate their outdated sewer plant and system. The Trigg County Fiscal Court was awarded $340,227 in CDBG funds; these funds, along with local cash from the Cadiz Community Arts Center, will be used to renovate the Janice Mason Art Museum with an ADA accessible entrance and accessible restrooms. Pennyrile ADD staff were honored to assist both communities in preparing applications for the CDBG program and will provide administrative services for both projects.

The CDBG program, overseen by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and administered through the Department for Local Government, provides assistance to communities for use in revitalizing neighborhoods, expanding affordable housing and economic opportunities, providing infrastructure and/or improving community facilities and services. For more information regarding the CDBG program, please contact any of the PADD Community and Economic Development staff at 270-886-9484.
