Business Development Manager
The Kentucky Council of Area Development Districts has a contract opportunity for a Business Development Manager.
The KCADD is a statewide alliance of the 15 Area Development Districts (ADDs). The KCADD serves to strengthen Kentucky’s ADDs, enhance regional economic prosperity, and improve the consistency and quality of ADD programs to ensure they add value to the Commonwealth, regional, and local initiatives. For over 40 years, the ADDs have been a catalyst of change is almost all aspects of life throughout the Commonwealth and in its individual regions. By working in concert with federal and state officials, and the Commonwealth’s local government shareholders, and its private and nonprofit sector partners, ADDs and KCADD have worked with the sole intent of serving Kentuckians.
This position is a Personal Service Contract with the Kentucky Council of Area Development Districts (KCADD). Duties will include raising revenue and expanding business opportunities that allow the Area Agencies on Aging (housed within Kentucky's 15 Area Development Districts) to achieve and sustain our mission. These goals shall be achieved by creating and executing an ethical business strategy to expand existing funding relationships and identify and secure opportunities with new business partners such as integrated health systems, managed care organizations and large employers through grants, business service contracts and/or private-pay services.
The qualified Business Development Manager shall meet the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required in Business Management, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management or other related field or substantial commensurate experience in similar roles in this field.Minimum of three years of fundraising/development experience in the health care, human services, aging, disability or managed care field.Demonstrated success leading business strategy development, business-to-business partnering and organizational fundraising in the fields of social services, health care, aging, or disability.Additional qualifications are detailed in the job description which can be obtained by emailing Tony Wilder at [email protected]
Pre-requisite job training and personal transportation is required by the KCADD to carry out contract functions. Excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills are a must. Job Description
JOB TITLE: Business Development Manager
REPORTS TO: KCADD Executive Director – Contractor Position Statewide
GENERAL SUMMARY: The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for raising revenue and expanding business opportunities that allow the Area Agencies on Aging (housed within Kentucky's 15 Area Development Districts) to achieve and sustain our mission. These goals shall be achieved by creating and executing an ethical business strategy to expand existing funding relationships and identify and secure opportunities with new business partners such as integrated health systems, managed care organizations and large employers through grants, business service contracts and/or private-pay services. The BDM must be highly skilled in marketing, communications, writing and advocacy and must possess business management skills and the ability to develop working relationships with health care and delivery systems (hospitals, home health and clinics) to expand access to home and community-based supports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS
- Identify, contact and develop business opportunities (i.e., long-term services and supports, care transition and other evidence-based programs) with integrated health systems such as physician-hospital organizations, accountable care organizations, patient-centered medical homes, and managed care organizations including Medicare Advantage, Medicaid and dual-eligible plans, commercial insurers, large self-funded employers and state-owned plans.
- Assess the 15 AAAIL's to identify strengths and weaknesses, potential partners, private pay opportunities underserved areas, etc. through a strategic plan process.
- Actively participate in N4A's Aging and Disability Business Institute.
- Develop program sustainability strategies to ensure financial viability of programs and services.
- Development, planning and implementation of comprehensive business development plan including targeted goals, objectives, methods, quantifiable outcomes and timelines for private pay opportunities, working with health systems and health plans, etc. to achieve agency sustainability.
- Collaborate with ADD directors and AAAIL directors to recognize opportunities and threats and develop strategic actions.
- Guide initiatives to pursue funding, grant opportunities and additional investments for AAAIL's.
- Build partnerships and strategic alliances that will extend the organization’s brand in the community and increase avenues of support.
- Mentor AAAIL staff on identified actions and outcomes and how to achieve, communicate and work with potential business partners and community stakeholders to reach strategic goals and objectives.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing plan in collaboration with the ADD and AAAIL Directors.
- Possess a working knowledge of Medicaid, aging and disability programsCoordinate meetings with ADD directors and AAAIL Directors to report on activities.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Demonstrated success leading business strategy development, business-to-business partnering and organizational fundraising in the field of social services, health care, aging or disability.
