The National Incident Management Capability Assessment Support

NIMCAST - Self-Assessments required of all jurisdictions by August 2006 as a condition of Homeland Security grant funding.

116 agencies in the region that submitted NIMCAST summaries last year have now signed in to the NIMCAST web site (https://www.fema.gov/nimcast/index.jsp) , edited their information, and re-submitted so that their County Coordinator could update their rollup to the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security.   All County Rollups were submitted by the deadline.  Agency USERID and PASSWORD established year should still work – if not, contact Jim Creighton, and we’ll reset it.  Agency updates this year must include a projected compliance date for those areas in which the evaluation is not fully compliant, and a short summary of the action plan to obtain compliance.

Current Requirements in the Training arena:
• Complete and implement the IS-700 into ongoing training programs by September 30, 2006 http://training.fema.gov/emiweb/IS/crslist.asp
• Complete and ensure the IS-800 is part of your ongoing training program for new employees, recruits and first responders by September 30, 2006 (Emergency managers or personnel whose primary responsibility is emergency management must complete the IS-800)
• Complete the ICS 100 and 200 by September 30, 2006 (KOHS recommends all 1st responders complete the ICS 200 level) http://training.fema.gov/emiweb/IS/crslist.asp

This year, all “local units of government” must formally adopt the NIMS by resolution. A sample resolution is available on the PADD website at http://www.peadd.org/planning/hs/nims/resolution.aspx
