Homeownership Counseling and Education Services
The Pennyrile Housing Corporation offers homeownership counseling to KHC-eligible home buyers who have been declined financing by KHC or KHC-approved lenders because of poor credit. Counseling includes helping those home buyers develop a budget and savings plan, identify and clean up credit problems, and prepare for the home buying process.
Yes You Can home buyer education seminars are offered twice a year. The course covers budget and credit, the mortgage loan process, finding the right house, loan closing, foreclosure prevention, and basic home maintenance.
Pennyrile Housing Corporation also offers counseling for home study courses, loan modification and delinquencies.
Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS)
The FSS program is designed to help participants end their dependency on government assistance. FSS participants receive employment skills training, budget and credit counseling, money management tips and homeownership education. The FSS program is a combination of agencies including Pennyrile Housing Corporation (PHC), Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC), and West Kentucky Workforce Investment Board (WKWIB).
